| Part III response or note to any other line in Part III | Part III - Primary Exempt PurposeTo establish and oversee places of workship, community and seminary centers, conduct the work of fellowship worldwide, create departments necessary to support fellowship activities and to license and oversee Alexander Foundation teachers and to engage in activities which are necessary, suitable or convenient for the accomplishment of that purpose or which are incidental thereto or connected therewith, which are consistent with Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Part III - Line 28. Program Service: HealingAccomplishments:The Healing program servicing our community through massage, healing touch, medical massage, CST and oriental therapies. These healing therapies are offered year-round, and at a very discounted rate so everyone can have access to healing. There are two Independent Contractors who specializes in the healing therapies. They are both Licensed Massage Therapists (LMT), one working full time and the other part time named Ana Alexander and Eydher Verdecia, respectively. Ana Alexander volunteers to clean the sheets, year-round. We have had 518 visits throughout the year, with a total of 131 participants, attending all year. The participation level has been considerably lower as Covid 19 pandemics government restrictions. Because of government restrictions due to Covid 19 we were closed from March 15th to June 18th, 2020. There has been a considerable reduction of visits and visiting participants from previous year. New regulations have been in place, such as mandatory mask use for staff and participants, cleaning with alcohol massage tables, amenities, and all equipment between visits, regular hand washing, and social distancing. Our methods have been successful as neither participants nor staff have been infected with Covid 19 virus. Safety has been our top priority and it continues to be so. Part III - Line 29. Program Service: Movement ClassesAccomplishments:Open to people of all ages, dividing them into kids and adults classes. Movement classes include and are not limited to Yoga, Martial Arts, Qi Gong, Pilates on the mat, and fitness training. All movement classes are carefully designed to benefit each participant, to improve their health and wellbeing. There are two instructors working as independent contractors who specialize in the movement classes. Ana Alexander and Chet Alexander. They are both qualified to teach each specialty. Movement Classes run year-round, 12 months of the year, and most days of the week, except for Sunday, offering participants multiple opportunities to train. Some classes are community based and are offered for free. We have had 673 visits throughout 2020. A total of 42 participants have benefited from the movement classes offered at Nityananda Center. This is without considering online participants who started using the online platform zoom, since it is difficult to quantify as it is open to anyone, anywhere in the world for free. Because of Covid 19, classes have shifted to Zoom online training from April 2020 on. Many participants are not yet ready to come back to participate in person. Many of the classes continue to be online as of today. Since the pandemic has affected many people in our community financially, all online classes are given free of charge. Some participants voluntarily made contributions online or by check. Since the pandemic started on March 15th, we have not quantified the number of online participants. This is due to our quantifying system would counting participants as owing payment for classes. Since these have been offered free of charge, we have not entered them in the system. We have offered a total of 14 online classes per week starting on April 2020. We have made an estimated total of 1,700 online zoom visits to online movement classes, with participation ranging from 2 students to 10 or more online participants. Some students have joined from other parts of the country like New York and Washington DC. Some have joined from other countries. Thanks to technology we were able to offer this unique service to individuals beyond our community. Most participants expressed their gratitude for the availability we have offered, as confinement was mandatory, and all centers were closed across the world. The ability to have offered these classes have been extremely rewarding and had had an immeasurable impact on all that have participated and those who still are participating. Private visits have totaled 79 visits, with 2 participants benefiting from private instruction all year. Part III - Line 30. Program Service: WorkshopsAccomplishments:Due to Covid 19 all group workshops have been suspended. We are planning on starting again during 2021, when the safety of everyone is guaranteed. One World Soul of Dance was scheduled in 2020 but cancelled because of Covid. We will once again produce this exceptional annual community Dance Festival as soon as regulations permit. Part III - Line 31. Program Service: Kids CampAccomplishments:We have had Homeschool camp for 3 small children for January and February 2020. Due to Covid 19 no kids camp was offered after March 2020. |
