We respectfully request an abatement of any penalties associated with the late filing of this return due to reasonable cause. We are a fully volunteer organization and this normally presents challenges as we all have outside professional, business, and personal obligations. With the global impact of COVID-19 on 2020, this just magnified the normal struggle tremendously and impacted all of us simultaneously and significantly. It was never our intention to file our return late, but our previous preparer who had indicated that they would be able to get the return filed timely was felled by a car accident that left them unable to complete the return. We obtained the services of a new outside accounting firm to prepare this return and they will work with us to ensure that all future deadlines are met going forward. We ask for your understanding during this time and again request that any and all penalties be waived under the circumstances. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
