| Other | Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 28 Statement of Program Service Accomplishments. Like many other theatres 2020 was a challenging year for Lake Superior Theatre. We decided to make lemonade out of the lemons and embarked on a project to renovate and update the actor's Green Room which is a busy place during our season. During the 2020 summer theatre season, Lake Superior Theatre supported our artists by designing, completing, and implementing a working document (the Blue Book) for crew members to include Directors, House Managers, Stage Managers, and the technical crew that design sets, sound, and light systems for the shows. Additionally the past and future cast and crew members were surveyed to how we can improve their experience at LST as it relates to funding, scheduling, opportunities, and facilitation of virtual auditions for the coming season. This allowed us to survive 2020 and will help us thrive in 2021. While we devoted considerable time to planning Youth Theatre camps outside we finally determined that the risk was too great and SAYT began its virtual program. |

| Other | Prior to the eventual decision to extend our intermission for LST we arranged for the purchase of Once the Musical for our 2021 season. We usually buy rights in January; in the case of Once we needed to assure rights to get a specific Director hired for 2021. Typically we can leverage those costs so that we get donations and season ticket income to help offset those costs so we have cash flow for payroll and preshow expenses however that was not going possible in 2020. |

| Other | Live theatre serves a key function in our society. It entertains and educates and creates a sense of community. It creates art and gives artists the opportunity to share their artistic talent. Productions involved more than 100 cast and support crew members. In 2019, 5,290 people attended the LST live productions, made possible by over 100 volunteers donating 4,890 hours of their time. Additional hours were spent installing a new platform for our sound and light crew on the decking as well as our new selfie spot that provides a focused view of the lower harbor for our patrons as well as those walking the bike path. |

| Other | In 2020 LST hosted numerous events for non profit groups who were otherwise limited to virtual events. Planning meeting gave the organizations a way to continue to be involved in the community. We also hosted a number of community events for those looking for opportunities to have meetings/gatherings outside under our tent with Covid precautions mandatory. Most groups were not able to contribute much under the circumstances but those who could were directed to make contributions to the local Vista Theatre which was incurring exceptional expense due to Covid inactivity and a snow disaster. We also planned an unusual Lightkeeper in 2020 given the unprecedented situation we were in. One of our local supporters donated their art collection to the fundraising effort. The art auction was virtual as well as actual and the actual event provided specific time slots to visit and view the art collection with treats provided. |

| Other | Our patrons tell us they enjoy incredible live theatre in a unique facility filled with nautical artifacts with a million-dollar view of Lake Superior as they forget the opera glasses, laugh, shed a tear, and feel like they are on Broadway in easy, intimate, air conditioned comfort. Lake Superior Theatre continues to make people slow down, unplug earphones, look up from their iPhones and iPads and say 'wowX and has become a summer "must-do" tradition for Upper Peninsula residents and visitors. Additionally it is making our waterfront a more animated and economically vital destination. Having the opportunity to present and preserve our past each summer is our passion. As the sign says: "Live Theatre...there is NO app for that!" See you at the Boathouse in 2021! |

| Other | Our social media pages have provided information about a variety of Broadway performances that have been provided through streaming activity. For example we have provided information for parents as to how to prepare kiddos for the streaming of Hamilton on Disney+. What else can we experiment with? Not just online, but in a variety of ways. How can we assert ourselves as theater artists outside the theater? How can we reach audiences who might never make it into our limited-run show in a 176-seat venue, and how can we then link that encounter with what we do onstage? How can we use the temporary absence of theaters as an opportunity to build bridges back to them? These are all issues that we continue to explore with our staff and volunteers. |

| Other | We have planned a series of Pop Up events under the tent in August which will be both virtual and live and which will utilize social distance and masks for the audience. One will be a collaboration with the MMM....The book is called Stealth Boat: Fighting the Cold War in a Fast Attack Submarine. The author is Gannon McHale, whos also a Broadway actor. Gannon will come to Marquette to do 1.5-2 hours of reading from his book with some ad libbed footnotes. He has some incredible insights into sub service during the Cold War. and his humorous presentation will be reminiscent of our experience of living in quarantine - almost like living in a submarine. In addition a few of our actors will present some nautical songs from our original historical musicals to enhance the experience. Other plans are for a Jersey Boys presentation and a collaboration with the History Museum. |

| Other | LST will be hosting a few small events for non profit groups who are otherwise limited to virtual events. We have also planned an unusual Lightkeeper this year given the unprecedented situation we are in. Kim and Sandy Wahtera are selling their condo and are going to donate the proceeds of their art collection as well as other art we are having donated to the fundraising effort. The art auction will be virtual and provide specific time slots to visit and view the art collection at the condo with treats provided by Donckers. We anticipate minimal funding from this effort but are going to give it a try to help provide additional funding for the five project areas. |
