	The Fine Chocolate Industry Association (FCIA) held two in-person educational forums for our members in 2020, both in San Francisco. The first was three-day program at the Fancy Food Show in January 2020 where presenters shared industry trends, pairings, and innovations in cocoa traceability. The second event was in March 2020 where FCIA has organized our annual Elevate Chocolate event. During this second forum, over 200 attendees participated in nine different educational workshops over a two-day period. Topics included consumer surveys results, farmer living income differentials (LID), sensory analysis and bean sourcing from different cocoa producing countries. The forum also had an exhibition hall where company members displayed their product lines. The major sponsors of the event were Guittard Chocolate, Blommer Chocolate, TCHO, Dandelion, and Ecom Trading.With the onset of the COVID pandemic, FCIA moved more towards online educational webinars in March 2020. Since then, over 20 webinars were held in 2020 on a variety of topics to help small businesses through challenging economic times. A few highlights included optimizing social media promotions, converting to online sales platforms and how to economically ship products during warm weather months. Other topics focused on cocoa sourcing and tempering demonstrations, and virtual factory visits.FCIA also launched an online consumer facing website in March 2020 called Make Mine Fine with listings of over 100 company members who sell directly to consumers. A large portion of the website provides educational content for consumers to learn more about cocoa flavors, production and marketing systems from cocoa producing counties.
