Explanation:

NACC moved their operations from Washington state to Maryland at the end of 2018. A new Executive Director was hired in Maryland. This created some confusion regarding the 2019 990EZ completion, and obtaining a copy of the previously filed 990EZ's. The new Ex. Director worked diligently to bring the books up to date, he puchased QuickBooks software, and eventually obtained the 2018 and 2017 tax returns. COVID-19 caused operations to slow down during early 2020 and still have not returned to full capacity. This created stopgaps in obtaining all information required to prepare a complete and accurate return. Accordingly, NACC had reasonable cause for filing late. Mr. Alderidge and other members of the board acted diligently to resolve the matter quickly. There was no negligence on the part of NACC board members or the Exeutive Director or willful neglect on their part. Once it was discovered there had been no 2019 990EZ filed during 2020 for NACC the board immediately took the necessary steps to engage with a professional CPA to bring the tax filings current.
