Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 28 Agricultural Education Crawford County Farm Bureau strongly supports learning experiences through a variety of Educational outreach programs. Encourages and supports participation in the Young Farmer Conference. Supports the Loess Hills Ag in the Classroom consortium. Awarded scholarships to individuals who plan to continue their education in agriculture. Conduct Summer Ag Literacy programing in Crawford County libraries and in the Second grade classrooms at the local elementary school only if COVID-compliant. Participates in the monthly library virtual read-along program with Norelius Library. Supports Ag in the Classroom and ISU Extension virtual middle school FCS Family Consumer Science classroom Ag Days quarterly.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 29 Public Policy Crawford County Farm Bureau board members are proud of their Policy Development and Implementation. Board Members attend legislative meetings that involve issues within the county. Opinionnaires allow all Farm Bureau members to ask questions regarding local, state and national issues. Resolutions are presented at the annual meeting in July where members are present to be discussed and amended. The board approves the adopted resolutions. Board members complete candidate evaluation forms for all state legislative, congressional and state-wide races and their completed forms to the Iowa Farm Bureau committee. Board Members invite county supervisors to the monthly Farm Bureau meeting to visit about the yearly budget for the county. Group of individuals are asked to participate in the FB Response Team. This gives board members the chance to give their perception on important issues. Hosts a Legislative Coffee for state legislators at the Westside American Legion in March.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 30 Public Relations Crawford County Farm Bureau believes in strong community involvement at the County level. Annually we support the Crawford County Fair with the sponsorship of the YEA Youth Experiencing Agriculture display no county fair in 2020 due to COVID. Plan a Grocery Grab event during National Agriculture Week in March to restock the local food pantry. Donate to the Crawford County Fair sheep breakfast and trophy auction no county fair in 2020 due to COVID. Offer Stroke Detection screenings each year if we can be COVID-compliant and offer discount coupons to county farm bureau members to shop at Bomgaars.
