X 2	FOOTNOTES IN FINANCIAL STATEMENTS Summary of Significant Accounting Policies In accordance with the Income Taxes Topic of FASB ASC, the Company evaluates uncertain tax benefits arising from tax positions taken or expected to be taken based on the likelihood of being sustained upon examination by applicable tax authorities. If the Company determines that a tax position is more likely than not of being sustained, it recognizes the largest amount of the arising benefit that is greater than 50 of being realized upon settlement in the financial statements. Any tax positions taken or expected to be taken that do not pass the more likely than not test, the Company establishes reserves offsetting the benefits related to such positions. Interest and penalties if any, are included in the current provision for income taxes in the Companys statements of activities and are included as a current liability in the statement of financial position. Form 990, Part III, Line 4a	EDUCATION 55,316 Sponsored a local Farm Bureau leader to attend the Ag Leaders Institute. Another local farmer attended the American Farm Bureau Annual Convention which included educational tours and sessions. A Pizz-A-Thon program, which is a farm to plate learning program for students, was supported. The Education Outreach Program of the Linn County Farm Bureau organized a two day workshop for local educators and teachers to provide lessons and resources they could incorporate into their classroom curriculum. This was converted to a virtual online format with good participation. The Education Outreach Program Coordinator and Intern provided lesson plans for students and teachers to incorporate agriculture into the classrooms, including community outreach throughout the summer, through their webpage and Facebook page. A LEGO League team was supported as they researched and competed with a RAD Farm project. These were a group of middle school students.
Form 990, Part III, Line 4b	PUBLIC RELATIONS 5,696 Supported high school state tournament teams from Linn County with footballs, basketballs, softballs, soccer balls, and volleyballs for team members and coaches. FB commemorative memorabilia was made available and presented to the athletes. Communicated with high school counselors, parents, and students to promote scholarship opportunities through Farm Bureau. Three local students were awarded scholarships totaling 3,000. Promoted and supported the county fair, a virtual event for 2020, with online activities for the community to participate in that were related to agriculture. We support 4-H and FFA activities with awards to support and recognize their community service activities. Held a National Beef and Dairy Month promotion with the local Cattlemen and Fareway stores. This was promoted heavily on social media and the FB membership publication. Packages of steaks were given away, along with a dairy bundle, to consumers throughout the month. Donated to the local food bank with a Feed the Need promotion when the pandemic began. Contributed to local FFA Chapter promotions that helped food insecure families at Thanksgiving to provide a meal.
Form 990, Part III, Line 4c	POLICY DEVELOPMENT 295 Communicated with elected local, state, and national officials to discuss issues of importance to agriculture. Held a meeting with our state legislators to discuss Farm Bureau views on current issues affecting agriculture and rural communities before the start of the new session. Responded to call-to-action email requests to influence state decision makers to remove mental health funding from property taxes. Provided to FB members with, and encouraged them to complete, an annual survey with questions regarding local, state, and national issues that affect agriculture and rural communities, to assist in the development of Farm Bureau policy. Many farmer members participated in this process. Policy Development committee wrote policy based on the survey results. Provided support to a neighboring county with their involvement in developing zoning ordinances that affected their rural area.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7b	Decisions of the governing body subject to approval by members include setting annual membership dues and nominating voting delegates to the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b	After the organizations CPA firm prepares the documentation and return, management reviews the documents and presents the return to all members of the governing body. Following final approval, the return is signed by an officer and submitted to the IRS.
