What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? HEALTH ACCESS CALIFORNIA IS THE STATEWIDE HEALTH CARE CONSUMER ADVOCACY COALITION, ADVOCATING FOR THE GOAL OF QUALITY, AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE FOR ALL CALIFORNIANS.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 State Lobbying: Health Access represents health consumers in the state legislature and works to develop health policies. We sponsor and advance key bills so consumers can have confidence that care and coverage will be there when they need it. Lobbying includes advancing legislation on setting a standard for essential health benefits and new insurance market rules, and streamlining enrollment and eligibility for coverage.
