28 Monthly Meetings - Membership dues covered the free attendance at monthly meetings, held primarily virtually as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, during which a guest speaker delivered a presentation on a topic that was particular to the construction industry or relevant to financial managers. Meetings also provided networking opportunities, such as at the Lone Star Conference, and an occasion to award the Construction Financial Professional of the Year. 29 Educational Classes - Educational seminars are typically held twice throughout the year with a focus on obtaining continuing professional education credit. Topics range from the basics of construction accounting to advanced cash management. An additional review course is offered for individuals interested in obtaining the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional credential. Expenses for these classes are minimal because instructors are chapter members who donate their time and facilities. These seminars were held virtually this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
