What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The specific purpose and mission of this Association is to serve the commercial elderberry producer category. The Elderberry Trade Association (ETA) strives to promote, protect and enhance the overall well-being of the industry by creating a relationship between producers and regulators while striving to advance our industry through advocacy, education, research and legislation.

Explanation:
The return is being filed late not due to willful neglect but rather due to reasonable cause. As a new organization, our paperwork was mailed to one of our board members addressed that was not preparing the tax filings. The notice to apply for an extension was sent to that address. The Treasurer was unaware of the filing deadline as no outside accountant has been obtained to file on our behalf. We have subsequently put in place a due date tracking system to better catch due dates in the future. We have filed the return as soon as we realized it was late. We respectively ask for abatement of all penalties and interest related to late filing due to our reasonable cause statement.
