THE OREGON /BLM PARTNERSHIP WITH QUWF SAW 500 ACTIVE MANAGEMENT ACRES INFLUENCING SOME 10,000 ACRES AT A VALUE OF 1,000,000 WITH VOLUNTEER MATCH OF 109,858.00 IN VOLUNTEER HABITAT WORK INSTALLING WATER LINES, PLANTING TREES AND REMOVING INVASIVE JUNIPER. MEMBERSHIP CASH DONATIONS TOTALED AN ADDITIONAL 5,000. THIS PROJECT AFFECTS ELK, DEER-WHITETAIL AND MULEY, CHUKAR, PHEASANT, MOUNTAIN QUAIL AND MANY SMALL GAME AND SONG BIRD SPECIES. QUWF IN 2020 REMAINS THE NUMBER 1 BOB WHITE QUAIL CONSERVATION ORGANIZATION IN THE U.S. AS RATED BY THE NATIONAL BOBWHITE CONSERVATION INITIATIVE, WITH OVER 58,000 ACTUAL ACRES RESTORED, 361,985 ACRES OVER THE LAST 5 YEARS NATIONWIDE, FOR THE BOBWHITE QUAIL. THAT INFLUENCES ANOTHER 116,000 ACRES OF HABITAT AT A VALUE OF 1.16 MILLION DOLLARS WITH UNTOLD VOLUNTEER HOURS INVESTED. THE VA CHAPTER AGAIN IN 2020 INVESTED OVER 1.1 MILLION DOLLARS IN QUAIL WORK WITH 450,000 IN VOLUNTEER AND EQUIPMENT TIME, LEADING THE EFFORTS. QUWF LANDOWNERS REPRESENT 65% OF ALL NON FARM BILL, NON RESEARCH ACRES IN THE U.S. ALL CHAPTERS CONDUCTED YOUTH OUTREACH PROGRAMS INCLUDING YOUTH HUNTS, ARCHERY CLASSES AND YOUTH FISHING TEAMS, GENERAL PUBLIC SEMINARS ACROSS THE U.S. QUWF HAD ONE OUTSTANDING HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH LEADER WHO ORGANIZED RESEARCH ON THE BOB WHITE AND HAD 14,048.80 IN VOLUNTEER STUDENT CONTRIBUTIONS FOR THE PROJECT. IN 2020 THE QUWF ESTABLISHED GROUSE COOP IN THE CATSKILLS MOUNTAINS OF NY AND IT CONTINUES TO GROW FROM THE ORIGINAL 200 RECOVERED AGRICULTURAL ACRES WHERE GROUSE ARE RESIDENT WITH A NEW ORCHARD PLANTED IN 2020. ADDITIONAL LANDOWNERS ADDED 360 ACRES TO THE COOP. TSI IS BEING CONTINUED IN 2020 WITH A VOLUNTEER INVESTMENT OF 4,500 AND SEVERAL NEW FOREST OPENINGS INSTALLED.
