VOLUNTEERS DONATED MORE THAN 387,000 HOURS TO BENEFIT OVER 50 LOCAL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. USING THE WISCONSIN VALUE OF A VOLUNTEER HOUR, THE IMPACT VALUE OF OUR 2020 VOLUNTEERS TOTALED 9.75 MILLION. OUR INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS TAKE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FAR BEYOND OUR EVERYDAY VOLUNTEER MATCHING AND MEMBER SUPPORT SERVICES. THE DO GOOD BUS DRIVES CHANGE BY TEACHING RIDERS ABOUT THE NEEDS FACING OUR COMMUNITY AND THE SIMPLE, YET POWERFUL, WAYS THAT VOLUNTEERS CAN CONTRIBUTE. CAMP SUPER HERO EDUCATES YOUTH ABOUT LOCAL NONPROFITS AND THE POWER OF SERVICE THROUGH THE SUMMER MONTHS AND BEYOND. CHAMPIONS OF CHANGE CELEBRATES THE INCREDIBLE IMPACT OF LOCAL VOLUNTEERS. OTHER INITIATIVES LIKE THE HUB COFFEE SHOP HEIGHTEN AWARENESS AND DRIVE COMMUNITY MEMBERS THROUGH OUR DOORS. THROUGH OUR CURRENT BUILDING EXPANSION, WE'RE ALSO EXPANDING OUR REACH WITH A STATE-OF-THE-ART COMMUNITY KITCHEN, ONSITE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES, AND COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS. AS WE DIVERSIFY THE WAYS WE REACH AND ENGAGE WITH COMMUNITY MEMBERS, MORE PEOPLE BECOME EMPOWERED TO VOLUNTEER IN WAYS THAT FIT INTO THEIR SCHEDULE, INTERESTS, AND ASPIRATIONS. THIS HELPS OUR ORGANIZATION ACHIEVE A VITAL GOAL: MORE VOLUNTEERS SERVING OUR LOCAL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. AS AN ONGOING RESPONSE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC, WE SERVE AS A HUB TO ASSIST IN TRIAGING THE NEEDS OF OUR AREA NONPROFITS. "OUR TEAM DEVELOPED AND CONTINUES TO MAINTAIN A COMPREHENSIVE WEBSITE HOUSING URGENT VOLUNTEER AND DONATION NEEDS. IN JUNE, OUR WEBSITE HAD 3,272 VIEWS OF VOLUNTEER NEEDS ALONE. "WE ASSISTED WITH CRITICAL FOOD DISTRIBUTION EFFORTS, CONNECTING VOLUNTEERS AND PROVIDING RESOURCES TO THE FULL SHELF FOOD PANTRY, MEALS ON WHEELS, RUBY'S PANTRY, AND FEEDING AMERICA MOBILE FOOD PANTRY. THIS IS JUST ONE CRITICAL AREA OF NEED AMONGST OTHERS. "TARGETED SURVEYS AND CONSISTENT OUTREACH EFFORTS HELPED US IDENTIFY TRENDS RELATING TO COVID-19. WE ADDRESSED IDENTIFIED CHALLENGES THROUGH VIRTUAL NETWORKING EVENTS, DONATION DRIVES, CREATIVE PROGRAMMING, TECHNICAL SUPPORT, AND AN OVERALL INCREASED LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT DEMANDED A NEW LEVEL OF CREATIVITY AND FLEXIBILITY. WE WERE CHALLENGED TO OVERCOME THE BARRIERS OF SOCIAL DISTANCING WHILE PRIORITIZING VOLUNTEERS' HEALTH AND SAFETY. "WE ACTIVELY PROMOTED 56 MEMBER VOLUNTEER NEEDS; ALL OF WHICH ARE NEW OR ADAPTED TO COVID-19 SAFETY STANDARDS. VOLUNTEERS HAVE AROUND-THE-CLOCK ACCESS TO RESOURCES LIKE GET CONNECTED, SUPPORTED BY PERSONAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE VIA EMAIL, PHONE AND SOCIAL MEDIA. "RATHER THAN CANCELING PROGRAMS, OUR TEAM WORKED DILIGENTLY TO ENSURE THEIR SAFETY AND RELEVANCE. COMMUNITY MEMBERS ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE COMMUNITY MOSAIC PROJECT; OUR VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION INITIATIVE (100 STORIES OF HOPE); AND UNIQUE EFFORTS LIKE A NATURE PASSPORT THAT ENCOURAGES FAMILIES TO VOLUNTEER SAFELY OUTDOORS WHILE EXPLORING LOCAL NATURE PRESERVES. "AS AN EXAMPLE OF ADAPTATION, WE QUICKLY TRANSFORMED CAMP SUPER HERO UTILIZING WEEKLY VIDEO CALLS, A SPECIAL SOCIAL MEDIA PAGE, AND THE OCCASIONAL PORCH DROP OFF TO ENGAGE 37 YOUTH GRADES 5-8 AND 11 CAMP LEADERS IN SERVICE LEARNING (DURING AN OTHERWISE UNEVENTFUL SUMMER).
