What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? THE PRIMARY MISSION OF THE ASSOCIATION (SEA) IS TO ENFORCE THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF MEMBERS. SEA NEGOTIATES SUCCESSOR AGREEMENTS AND ASSISTS MEMBERS IN THEIR PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITES. SEA SPENDS APPROXIMATELY 50% OF ITS TIME NEGOTIATING AND EFORCING THE CONTRACTS.SEA ALSO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO MEMBERS WITH GRIEVANCES WITH THE EMPLOYER. THIS IS A FUNCTION THAT CONTINUES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. WHEN A MEMBER ENCOUNTERS A PROBLEM WITH THE EMPLOYER WE CAN HELP THEM THROUGH THE BARGAINING CONTRACT. WE ATTEND HEARINGS WITH THE MEMBER BEFORE THE EMPLOYER ACTING AS AN ADVOCATE ON BEHALF OF THE MEMBER. WE HAVE A GRIEVANCE CHAIR WHO PERFORMS THIS FUNCTION. WE SPEND APPROXIMATELY 50% OF OUR TIME NEGOTIATING AND ENFORCING THE CONTRACT.
