What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Continuing education for medical laboratory professionals. Note: starting in 2020, we are no longer doing the finances for the Northwest Medical Laboratory Symposium. This was the major source of income and expenses in the past. We will still provide financial assistance for members to attend continuing education and other laboratory professional events.

Form 990-EZ, Part I, Line 16 Expenses: Region IX assessment from ASCLS = $800.00.
Form 990-EZ, Part I, Line 20 Change in net assets = $2271 expense. FY2019-2020 was the last year ASCLS Region IX did the finances for the NW Medical Lab Symposium. ASCLS WA is doing the finances starting October 2020. Net assets shown on the 2019 990EZ form is correct. However, it does not agree with the total assets in the bank account because of expenses and/or deposits for the symposium which occurred outside of the fiscal 2019-2020 year. The amount of $2271 adjusts for this difference.
