WE USED OUR TIME DURING THE PANDEMIC TO MAKE CHILDSAFE COLORADO AS LEAN AND STREAMLINED AN OPERATION AS POSSIBLE MAKING SURE THAT THE MAXIMUM RESOURCES WERE DEVOTED TO TREATING OUR CLIENTS: -WE UPGRADED OUR BILLING PLATFORM TO UTILIZE MANY MORE FEATURES. THIS HELPED TO REDUCE OUR ANNUAL WRITE-OFFS BY 11%, COLLECT MORE SERVICE FEES AND INVOICE IN A TIMELIER MANNER. -WE SECURED A 46,000 ENERGY GRANT FROM THE STATE OF COLORADO TO UPGRADE OUR HVAC, LIGHTS, DOOR SEALS AND BUILDING INSULATION TO MAKE OUR BUILDING MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT. -WE UPGRADED OUR DONOR MANAGEMENT TO SALESFORCE TO BETTER MONITOR, REPORT ON AND ASSEMBLE INFORMATION ABOUT OUR DONORS. -WE IMPROVED OUR FINANCIAL PROCESSES TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL OVERSIGHT IN OUR CHAIN OF CUSTODY IN THE HANDLING OF CASH, CHECKS, CREDIT CARD RECEIPTS AND OTHER FORMS OF PAYMENT AND DONATION. THIS WAS NOTED IN ALL PRIOR 990S AS A DEFICIENCY IN OUR OPERATIONS. -WE ALSO ADDED TWO ADDITIONAL FULL TIME THERAPISTS WHICH HELPED TO ELIMINATE OUR WAITING LIST FOR SERVICES FOR THE FIRST TIME. A 16% INCREASE OVER 2019, 962 CLIENTS FROM 400 FAMILIES WERE SERVED IN 2020. WE ATTRIBUTE OUR CONTINUING YEAR-OVER-YEAR GROWTH TO THREE THINGS: RAPID POPULATION GROWTH IN OUR REGION, MORE PEOPLE FINDING US THROUGH OUR ESTABLISHED, FAR-REACHING REFERRAL NETWORK AND AN IMPROVED LEVEL OF VISIBILITY. A RECORD NUMBER OF PEOPLE CAME TO US TO ADDRESS THE CHILDHOOD TRAUMA THAT HOLDS THEM BACK FROM LIVING THEIR FULLEST, HEALTHIEST LIFE. AND AS WE HAVE SINCE 1986, WE WERE HERE TO HELP. IN 2020, CHILDSAFE TREATED 867 INDIVIDUALS IN OUR CSATP OUTPATIENT TREATMENT PROGRAM. WE SERVE VICTIMS OF CHILD ABUSE (PRIMARILY SEXUAL ABUSE), AGES 2-18, AND THEIR NON-OFFENDING FAMILY MEMBERS THROUGH A COMBINATION OF GROUP, INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY THERAPY TO HELP FOSTER RESILIENCE AND HEAL THE DAMAGE CAUSED BY ABUSE. AFTER A THOROUGH ASSESSMENT, OUR HIGHLY TRAINED THERAPISTS, WITH INPUT FROM OUR CLIENTS, DEVELOP TREATMENT PLANS FOR THE WORK THEY WILL DO TOGETHER. OUR TREATMENT APPROACH IS TRAUMAINFORMED AND CAN INCLUDE PLAY, ART, SAND, AND MUSIC, AS WELL AS TF-CBT, TALK, EMDR, NEUROFEEDBACK, AND OTHER HIGHLY EFFECTIVE TECHNIQUES. FAMILY THERAPY IS CONDUCTED TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION AND TRUST AND HEAL ATTACHMENT WOUNDS. THROUGH GROUP THERAPY, CLIENTS LEARN THAT THEY ARE NOT ALONE IN THEIR STRUGGLES AND CAN FACE THEIR CHALLENGES AND LEARN TO THRIVE WITH THE SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT OF THEIR PEERS. IN 2020, WE TAUGHT 77 CAREGIVERS TRAUMA-INFORMED PARENTING CLASSES TO GIVE THEM THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO FACE THE CHALLENGES OF RAISING TRAUMATIZED CHILDREN AND TEENS. OUR CLINICIANS PROVIDE SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY FOR CLIENTS GOING THROUGH THE COURT SYSTEM AND CONNECT FAMILIES WITH REFERRALS FOR ACCESSING HELP WITH BASIC NEEDS. WE TURNED NO ONE AWAY DUE TO INABILITY TO PAY FOR SERVICES. CHILDSAFE IS A RESPECTED MEMBER OF THE MDT (MULTI-DISCIPLINARY TEAM) IN OUR COMMUNITY, RESPONDING TO CASES OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT. OUR CLINICIANS PROVIDE VITAL TRAINING AND CONSULTATION TO AREA PROFESSIONALS REGARDING THE MYRIAD ISSUES FACING VICTIMS OF ABUSE AND HOW TO RESPOND IN AN EFFECTIVE AND TRAUMA-INFORMED MANNER. |
