Form 990, Part VI, Line 2: Description of Business or Family Relationship of Officers, Directors, Et The 2 Year and 3 Year Trustees are related throught marriage. The Secretary and 5 Year Trustee are brothers. The Exalted Ruler and Chaplin are father and daughter.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 6: Explanation of Classes of Members or Shareholder The Elks' are a Fraternal Organization that is membership based with each member having a vote with regards to policy and by-laws. The Trustees have responsibility for financial and property, and the House Committee is the govening body consisting of nine elected individuals responsible for the operations of the Lodge and overall responsibility for compliance with our written by-laws and the Laws of the United States of America.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 7a: How Members or Shareholders Elect Governing Body The Elks' membership elects annually inividuals to the governing body which serve for 1 - 5 years depending upon the position or office to which the individual is elected. Trustees serve for 5 years and all other positions are one year terms, with the possibility of individuals being elected to the same office multiple years.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 7b: Describe Decisions of Governing Body Approval by Members or Shareholders There are limited decisions that require the vote of the full body of Members, in such case notice must be made to all members and the date for the vote regarding the required decision is selcted within 30 days from the notice but no sooner than 10 days.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 11b: Form 990 Review Process Form 990 was presented to the Membership and Voting Members at the monthly Lodge meeting held the first and third Wednesday of the month. A copy was sent to the national organization review board and a copy is maintained by the Lodge Secretary for reivew by any member.
