THE ORGANIZATION LOST THREE TREASURERS DURING THE PERIOD 9/1/2018 and 8/13/2019. WHEN I TOOK OVER AS TREASURER, THERE WAS NO ACCESS TO ANY RECORDS OR ACCESS TO THE ONLINE BANKING ACCOUNT. I WAS UNABLE TO OBTAIN RECORDS FOR OVER A YEAR. ONCE ACCESS WAS GAINED TO THE RECORDS, IT BECAME EVIDENT THAT A MAJOR RECONSTRUCTION EFFORT WAS REQUIRED. THIS EFFORT WAS ASSIGNED TO A MEMBER OF THE ORGANIZATION WHO WAS A CPA WHO VOLUNTEERED TO UNDERTAKE THE RECONSTRUCTION. THE MEMBER WAS UNABLE TO RECONSTRUCT THE RECORDS WITH SUFFICIENT DETAIL. WITHOUT THE RECORDS, FILING THE 990 FOR THE PERIOD 9/1/18-8/31/19 WAS NOT POSSIBLE. BECOMING FRUSTRATED WITH THE LACK OF PROGRESS, ON FEBRUARY 15, 2021, I PERSONALLY UNDERTOOK THE RECREATION OF THE RECORDS BASED ON THE ONLINE BANK STATEMENTS, BROKERAGE STATEMENTS, MEETING MINUTES, A SECONDARY SYSTEM USED TO TRACK EXPENDITURES AND DEPOSITS, AND TIDBITS FOUND SCRIBBLED IN THE MARGINS OF MEETING MINUTES. I COMPLETED THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE RECORDS ON FEBRUARY 25, 2021. I THEN COMPLETED THE 990 FOR THE PERIODS 9/1/2018-8/31/2019 and 9/1/2019-8/31/2020. PROVIDED DRAFTS OF THE 990S TO THE OFFICERS AND TRUSTEES FOR REVIEW AND FILED THEM IMMEDIATELY AFTER RECEIVING FEEDBACK FROM THE REVIEWS. WE NOW HAVE A STABLE TREASURE WHO IS DILIGENT AND NO FUTHER DELAYS ARE EXPECTED.
