Return Reference Explanation
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 2 The Treasurer and Asst Treasurer are father and daughter. The Asst Treasurer position is very limited and allows the Treasurer to have time off during the summer months. This position/relationship has been approved by the board, NCUA and State examiners. This is the third year of this position and has worked very well since the credit union is so small it is very hard to find a backup with very limited hours.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6 The credit union has members who are or have been associated with the educational organizations employees and their families in the local Alexandria area.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a Each year at the annual membership meeting, the general membership elects board and committee members whos terms are up for re-election.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7b To amend the certificate of organization or bylaws are the governance decisions of the members.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The Credit Union board was provided a copy of the 990 for review at its regular monthly meeting.
Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 The bylaws and financial statements are available for review to the members of the credit union when requested. At the Annual Membership meeting the financials are distributed to the members present.
Form 990, Part XI, Line 9 Increase due to membership growth and existing members adding to their share accounts. The dividend rates were kept at a favorable rate during the pandemic therefore members took advantage of the stability of the credit union. Loan rates were favorable as well and loan demand was also up during the pandemic.
