| Pt III, Line 31 | Lost and Found Recovery Center serves the region as a Christian ministry of healing for those who struggle with addiction. LNF is located at 111 7th St. S. Moorhead, MN. LNF is open Monday-Thursday from 10-4 and Friday 10-2 with other appointments available upon request. LNF has served the Fargo-Moorhead area for over 34 years. |
| Pt III, Line 31 | Executive Director Jann Johnson retired Feb 26, 2021 and Jackie Mattfeld, assistant director, will be the interim director. Jackie has over 13 years of non-profit experience, a bachelor's degree in Education with a minor in Religion from St. Cloud State University and she is active in outreach planning and youth ministry at her church. |
| Pt III, Line 31 | Our staff includes Erica Rohman, Kathy Benjamin and Alexis Centers, three part-time Peer Recovery Specialists (PRS) who are in recovery themselves who are working to provide support to our clients in recovery. They have had 40 hours of training and have/will receive Minnesota Certification as well as North Dakota certification. Each part-time PRS is working with 8-10 clients weekly. Each PRS is also trained/will be trained in SMART Recovery (Self-Management And Recovery Training). SMART is a global community of mutual-support groups. At meetings, participants help one another resolve problems with any addiction (to drugs or alcohol or to activities such as gambling or over-eating). Participants find and develop the power within themselves to change and lead fulfilling and balanced lives guided by our science-based and sensible 4-Point Program. This training will enable LNF do diversify our services as well as offer the community another choice in a recovery group setting. |
| Pt III, Line 31 | Our 3 PRS's have agreed to be part of a new EMS grant program called Overdose Response Crew (ORC) where they are trained and meet with an addict in an ER setting if the addict wants to connect with someone who has "been thereX and wants to learn about options. If responding to this situation, they are paid through the grant. |
| Pt III, Line 31 | Kirsten Houvinen is our part-time staff Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) and Licensed Social Worker. Kirsten is the Peer Recovery Specialist Supervisor as well as the Social Work Internship director. As a private contractor, Kirsten's additional rolls include Chemical Evaluations, Rule 25 evaluations and interventions. Former private sub-contractor, Sandy Hanson, LADC, will still fill in as needed. |
| Pt III, Line 31 | In January, LNF began supervision of two Social Worker interns from NDSU. Kelly Keenan and Angelique Aikoriegie. They have assisted LNF in many ways, including library maintenance, scheduling CD evals, organizing materials and starting a community resources data base that will be used by our PRS's. The interns were given SMART Training to become facilitators and opportunities to sit in on assessments with an LADC. They will each complete 340 hours at LNF to reach their internship requirements. |
| Pt III, Line 31 | For 6 weeks, starting the end of March 2021 all staff, interns and select clients will attend Upstream Empowerment classes. This has been made possible through a grant from the FM Women's Foundation. Upstream Training focuses on "guiding you and entire organizations through our proven process that will reshape the way you think, feel, perceive yourself and others, and interact with the world around you. With the right tools, you are capable of achieving success in any of the roles your life requires." |
| Pt III, Line 31 | The LNF Wellness Library has had minimal use during the COVID-19 shut-downs, but as of February 2021, a few clients have been returning to use the materials available here. We have had a few requests of "curb-side" pick up, which we will gladly do. With a $600 specific DVD grant, the purchase of over 60 new DVD's have been added to the library. |
| Pt III, Line 31 | LNF continues to partner with the FM Interfaith Community program. We are housing their library of resources as part of our library. They also rehabbed one of our small rooms to create a Meditation Room and are leading meditation sessions and monthly interfaith dialogues. |
| Pt III, Line 31 | As the community slowly returns to in-person meetings, LNF currently has 4 support groups that rent and meet in the community room. The support groups include: Al-Anon, SA and two NA groups. Groups that plan on returning to in-person in the next few months include: SMART Recovery and "Loved Ones" group. |
| Pt III, Line 31 | LNF has recently helped facilitate the organization of a RECOVERY COMMUNITY ALLIANCE with the mission of building a recovery-friendly community. WE currently have around 50 organizations and individuals who are participating. We will continue this alliance as it forms into a more concise organization of recovery. |
| Pt V, PBC | The organization did not, during this year, receive any funds, directly or indirectly, on a personal benefit contract. |
