Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 1 To create a vibrant future for agriculture, farm families their communities.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 28 Public Policy 19 members attended the Membership Forum to discuss property tax issues and agriculture concerns. The County held meetings with County Supervisors and County Engineer on issues such as property taxes, roads, and rural safety. We held meetings with Elected State and National officials to discuss key policy issues affecting agriculture and rural Iowa. We participated in Legislative Forums with State Elected officials to discuss issues such as agriculture and their communities. 302 members responded to Member Input through the annual survey to direct Board of Directors on policy statement issues affecting agriculture and rural communities.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 29 Education/Ag in the Classroom 500 members attended the Co Sponsored Southeast Iowa Farm Show with over 50 vendors. 30 members attended the Sponsorship of Collegiate Farm Bureau Program at Southeastern Community College where college age ag students participate in leadership development, educational programs on conservation and markets and over 200 students attended classroom visits for elementary students.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 30 Public Relations Van Buren County Farm Bureau promoted and supported the County Fair to educate non farmers on modern agriculture and the important role farmers play in their community. Over 100 members participated in organizing a promotion to support the local food pantry during National Agriculture Week in March.
