THE MISSION OF THE FOUNDATION IS TO HELP TRANSFORM THE LIVES OF LOW-INCOME MOMS THROUGH MEANINGFUL ACCESS TO CARE AND THE SUPPORT OF BASIC NEEDS. THE FOUNDATION WORKS TOWARDS ENSURING ACCESSIBILITY OF HIGH-QUALITY MATERNAL AND INFANT CARE TO ALL WOMEN AND BABIES, AS SHOULD A SUPPORT SYSTEM ALLOWING THEM TO THRIVE. SINCE 2014, THE JENNIFER BUSH-LAWSON FOUNDATION HAS GIVEN LOW-INCOME PREGNANT WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN RENEWED HOPE BY INCREASING ACCESS TO MUCH-NEEDED QUALITY HEALTH CARE SUPPORT, CONDUCTING RESEARCH TO AFFECT SYSTEMIC CHANGE, AND PROVIDING BASIC SUPPLIES NEEDED TO BRING BABY HOME SAFELY. THE FOUNDATION HAS SUPPORTED PROJECTS THAT INCLUDE AN INNOVATIVE TELEMEDICINE PROGRAM FOR LOW-INCOME WOMEN WITH HIGH-RISK PREGNANCIES, SAFE PLACES TO SLEEP FOR NEWBORNS OF FAMILIES IN NEED, TRANSPORTATION VOUCHERS TO PRENATAL APPOINTMENTS, EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AND MORE. THE FOUNDATION RUNS VARIOUS PROGRAMS INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING TO FULFILL ITS MISSION: BASIC NEEDS NURSERY PROJECT AND FEEDING FAMILIES: LAUNCHED IN THE MIDST OF THE COVID GLOBAL PANDEMIC, THE PROJECT AIMS TO SUPPORT NEW FAMILIES AS THEY BRING BABIES HOME UNDER UNPRECEDENTED CIRCUMSTANCES. THE NURSERY PROJECT PROVIDES ESSENTIAL NEWBORN SUPPLIES TO PROVIDE ESSENTIALS, SUPPORT SAFE SLEEP AND ENCOURAGE THE BREASTFEEDING RELATIONSHIP. THROUGH PARTNERSHIP WITH JBLF SUPPORTERS, LOCAL ARLINGTON (VA) MOMS' GROUPS, AND AETNA BETTER HEALTH VIRGINIA, WE HAVE ALREADY SERVED MORE THAN 100 FAMILIES. THIS SUPPORT HAS INCLUDED PROVIDING DIAPERS, BABY BLANKETS, BABY BASICS, STROLLERS, AND INFANT CAR SEATS TO THE NEEDY FAMILIES. THE PROJECT ALSO AIMS TO SUPPORT NEW FAMILIES AS THEY BRING BABIES HOME UNDER UNPRECEDENTED CIRCUMSTANCES.
