Briefly describe the organization’s mission: The purpose of the organization is to promote fellowship and friendly competition in golf among senior players, to hold an annual championship tournament, and to hold such other golf tournaments and other related tours plus competition as may be requested by the members and approved by the Board of Directors and in general, to do all things that may be deemed necessary and proper to advance the best interest of golf and of senior golfers in the state of Georgia and beyond.

We submitted Form 990 in May, postmarked 5/13/212, received in Ogden 5/17/21. We later received a 10/18/21 letter from the IRS stating that we never filed. We sent the form again on 10/22/21 noting that it had been filed in May. The IRS then sent a letter dated 11/29/21, postmarked 12/7/221, received by us 12/10/21, with a copy of the original return stating that the it could not be processed and was being returned. It stated that to avoid penalties the IRS must receive an ELECTRONIC return within 10 days of 11/29/21, which was physically impossible. The point is that we did not file late, it was simply in a form no longer acceptable to the IRS. We are a tiny association with limited assets and no professional help with these matters. I had always filed by hard copy, and since the form included a signature box it looked like it always has. I was not aware of the electronic requirement although I admit it was in the 75 pages of instructions for Form 990. So, I immediately engaged one of the IRS-sponsored services to submit the form on line one day after receiving the IRS letter 2694C for our tax ID 23-7125295. I trust this will be acceptable to wrap up the 2020 filing, understanding that we will file electronically going forward. The IRS stamped our original return May 17, 2021. If we had been notified sooner we could have filed electronically sooner.
