Explanation:
During the COVID-19 pandemic, practitioners are helping small businesses with PPP applications and forgiveness, managing remote work environments, and otherwise assisting and advising small businesses on the brink of closure. Despite making every good faith effort to comply, the former tax practitioner for Exchange Club of Wenatchee (ECW) was unable to assist them with the timely preparation of the Form 990-EZ filing for their fiscal year ended June 30, 2020. Due to the restrictions in place in Washington state, ECW was not able to hold in-person meetings where these matters could be discussed and addressed on a timely basis. As such, ECW requests abatement of any late filing penalties citing reasonable cause, as explained above.
