	The organization selected four member companies to participate in its first round of leadership training for incumbent workers. Interviews were conducted with each company to ascertain interest and need. A 5-module "Management Excellence Certificate" program offered participants the next step in leadership development for those looking to advance their careers within the life sciences industry. The organization administered an online assessment for participants with results incorporated into each training module. A workshop was conducted explaining the assessment and how to use it in business. Eighteen graduated from the program.

	In March of 2020, just as the pandemic arrived in Rhode Island, twenty-four participants took part in the second round of Leadership Development Training, graduating from the Emerging and Advanced Leadership Development Training The training helped engineers, quality managers, scientific directors and other technically proficient employees learn how to become better managers and leaders through team building, managing conflict, effective delegation and more.

	A standards-based classroom curriculum focusing on human health and biology was developed, connecting the curriculum content to the Rhode Island life sciences industry, with emphasis on local companies, STEM role models and career pathways for students. Awareness of the curriculum and educating teachers on how to implement it effectively was accomplished with four 6-hour training workshops. Twenty seven teachers were trained and 2,934 students participated in the training.

	The organization received INBRE funds intended to enhance the caliber of scientific faculty at research institutions and undergraduate schools who can attract more talented students to augment the science and technology knowledge of the state's workforce.
