| Form 990, Part III, Line 4d: Other Program Services Description | OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Probate Manuals and Legal Forms Sales - The Association sells probate manuals and sells standardized preprinted real estate forms for use in typical real estate transactions and standardized preprinted Uniform Commercial Code ("UCC") forms for use in typical financing transactions. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Addressing Services - The Association sells a list consisting of the names and addresses of its members only to persons or groups who are (1)running for a political office for which membership in the legal profession is a prerequisite or (2)law firms (comprised of lawyers who are members of the Association) that wish to make professional announcements, provided the content of the announcement is approved by the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Association. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Membership Dues and Assessments - The annual dues paid to the Association by its members are its primary source of support. The dues are payments meant to provide support for the Association in exchange for the general benefits of membership derived from affiliation with the Association, and thus bare a direct casual relationship to the accomplishment of the Association's exempt purposes. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Miscellaneous -Various expenses are paid by the Association to generally further bar exempt purposes. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 8: Section Dues- The Dallas Bar Association (DBA) has 30 sections. Each section represents a particular field of law. DBA members are encouraged to join sections that may be of interest to their specific legal needs. Section dues are collected to pay for educational materials and speakers. |

The Compensation Committee reviews the salary history of the Executive Director, compares salary levels with other Executive Directors of local bar associations of similar size around the country and considers all of the accomplishments for the year. For the staff members, the employees are requested to write their accomplishments and goals in a report and submit to the Executive Director for review. After review, the Executive Director meets with each employee to discuss his/her performance for the year. The Executive Director presents an evaluation summary with salary adjustments of each employee to the Compensation Committee. Salary adjustments are considered after reviewing accomplishments and goals for the year, comparing salaries to other similar positions in other local bar associations around the country and reviews the salary history of each employee for the past 5 years. Once the Compensation Committee has approved the recommendations, the Board of Directors votes on all salary adjustments. |
