Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 1 To create a vibrant future for agriculture, farm families their communities.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 28 Policy Development Davis County Farm Bureau prides itself on the involvement of the volunteer organization in creating policy for the organization. We send out an opinionnaire to members thru mail and email. We then hold a meeting in the park shelter house to discuss the finding of that opinionnaire and create resolution that reflect the opinionnaire. We invite guest speakers to discuss specific topics that are the subject of discussion. The resolutions are presented at the annual membership meeting, where we can have more discussion, if necessary.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 29 Ag Promotion Davis County has been very active in promoting Agriculture. We have been a long-time sponsor of the youth livestock judging at the county fair. We have supported the Davis County Sheriffs office and its activities to curtail on farm theft. Davis county Farm Bureau sponsors the local pumpkin fest that brings in many individuals for the promotion of agriculture. We support many of the local town celebrations and play an active role when possible. We support the youth by purchasing livestock at the fair auction.
Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 30 Ag in the Classroom Davis County Farm Bureau has an ag in the classroom coordinator that visits the 3rd grade classrooms once a month during the school year. We are the title sponsor of the middle school Ag Day. At this event they have presenters on varies Ag topics. A lunch is provided that focuses on farm products that are prepared by local farmers.
