THESE DONATIONS ARE DELIVERED TO HUNGER RELIEF AGENCIES THAT DISTRIBUTE THIS FRESH PRODUCE TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES EXPERIENCING FOOD INSECURITY, AND TO HUNDREDS OF ADDITIONAL DIRECT SERVICE AGENCIES. FRUITS AND VEGETABLES COLLECTED BY THE PROGRAM ARE ULTIMATELY DISTRIBUTED TO HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIANS EVERY MONTH.

FOOD FORWARD QUICKLY LAUNCHED AN ORGANIZATION-WIDE, LARGE-SCALE EMERGENCY EXPANSION INITIATIVE, AND WAS ABLE TO QUICKLY IMPLEMENT NEW SAFETY PROTOCOLS AND PROCEDURES, HIRE AND REDEPLOY STAFF, DOUBLE WAREHOUSE SPACE, ACQUIRE NEW EQUIPMENT, FORGE NEW PARTNERSHIPS WITH OVER 160 AGENCIES TO ADDRESS HUNGER RELIEF, AND EXPAND GEOGRAPHIC RECOVERY AND DISTRIBUTION ACROSS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. THE PANDEMIC'S EFFECTS HAVE CONTINUED IN THE FIRST MONTHS OF 2021, WITH CONTINUED ECONOMIC AND FOOD INSECURITY.
