	NATIONAL TRENDS AND SERVICES: The vision of the National Trends and Services facet is to eliminate disparities by reducing barriers to services through advocacy, education, and service. Our mission is to empower our chapters to effectively empower the communities in which we work. We aim to increasing the number of sustainable and measurable programs; increasing collaborative partnerships; and extending our existing initiatives to include communities identified as having the greatest need. Currently, National Trends and Services encompasses the following programs and committees with national partners and sponsors, each committed to the overall vision and mission of the facet. These programs serve as a catalyst for change promoting individual and community empowerment.

	HEALTH and HUMAN SERVICES: Established in response to the chronic health disparities that persis in our communitiies and which result in decrease life expectancy of African-Americans. The programs brings greater focus, resources and coordination health initiatives already in existence, Our signature Health Links to Heart Health Program was established in partnership with The Links, Inc., federal agencies, local hospitals and community groups to increase awareness of the number one killer of women, Heart Disease. With ongoing forums, panels, workshops and health fairs, we provide educational awareness and prevention programs to high risk minority women.

	SERVICES TO YOUTH: Through commitment and dedication, our focus on providing a range of innovative, substantive sustained services and support to elementary and middle school programming contributes to the attainment of proven results OT key educations and social/community issues. A consistent approach to mentor and tutor elementary/middle school students bolster math and reading skills for elementary age students and our delivery of character-building workshops shapes and reveals the true diamonds once hidden and prepares them for life's challenges. The FIRST LEGO League introduces young people, ages 9 to 14 ( grade 4-8) to the fun and excitement of science and technology. Teams, composed of up to 10 children with at least two screened Lead Coaches, can also be associated with pre-existing club and organizations, home schooled, or just be a group of friends who wish to do something awesome. Our First LEGGO program is for 7th and 8th grade girls at Thomas Jefferson. The teams meet twice a week to engage in team building activities, review and incorporate First Leggo Core Values, work on their research projects and build and program their robots to complete tasks with the mission sets.

Form 990, Part III, Line 4d: Other Program Services Description	OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: NATIONAL TRENDS AND SERVICES: The vision of the National Trends and Services facet is to eliminate disparities by reducing barriers to services through advocacy, education, and service. Our mission is to empower our chapters to effectively empower the communities in which we work. We aim to increasing the number of sustainable and measurable programs; increasing collaborative partnerships; and extending our existing initiatives to include communities identified as having the greatest need. Currently, National Trends and Services encompasses the following programs and committees with national partners and sponsors, each committed to the overall vision and mission of the facet. These programs serve as a catalyst for change promoting individual and community empowerment. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: INTERNATIONAL TRENDS AND SERVICES: THE International Trends and Services facet is to expand the global platform for programs designed and developed to service the educational, health and cultural needs of people of African descent throughout the world. All programmatic components of the facet are delivered through measurable and sustainable service delivery methods that reach women and their families. The foremost goal of the International Trends and Services facet is to provide opportunities for tangible service in other countries. Our "boots on the ground" approach provides for more personalized methods for assisting and improving the lives of women, children and men worldwide through long-term programs committed to empowerment and public policy leadership in advocating for social justice.
