X 2 The Kingsport Area Chamber of Commerce, Inc. is a tax exempt, not for profit organization under Section 501c6 of the Internal Revenue Code. Unrelated business income from the sale of magazine advertising in excess of 1,000 is not exempt from taxation. No provision for income taxes is requried due to a net operating loss carryforward for unrelated business income losses. The Chamber believes that it has appropriate support for any tax position taken, and as such, does not hae any uncertain tax positions that qualify for either recognition or disclosure in the Chambers financial statements.
