THE DIRECTOR OF VOLUNTEER SERVICES, WHO IS A MERITUS MEDICAL CENTER EMPLOYEE, SITS IN ON THE MEETINGS TO PROVIDE GUIDANCE AND ADVICE. THE DIRECTOR OF VOLUNTEER SERVICES IS NOT A MEMBER AND HAS NO VOTE ON THE BUSINESS PROCEEDINGS. THE SENIOR MANAGEMENT AND VARIOUS EXECUTIVES OF MMC ARE INVITED TO THE MEETINGS EACH MONTH. SPECIAL COMMITTEES MAY BE APPOINTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE AUXILIARY TO CARRY OUT CERTAIN WORK AND THEN ARE DISCHARGED WHEN THE WORK IS COMPLETED. STANDING COMMITTEES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: (1) FUNDRAISING COMMITTEES INCLUDE THE TREE OF LIGHTS, ANNUAL BAZAAR, BABY PHOTOS, ART IN THE HALLWAY, RAFFLE, BOOK FAIR, UNIFORM SALE, BAG SALE AND JEWELRY SALE. FUNDRAISING COMMITTEES USUALLY CONSIST OF AN APPOINTED CHAIRPERSON AND VOLUNTEERS. THESE COMMITTEES GIVE REPORTS TO THE BOARD EITHER MONTHLY OR QUARTERLY DEPENDING ON ACTIVITY. (2) THE FINANCE COMMITTEE PREPARES THE BUDGET FOR PRESENTATION AND APPROVAL BY THE EXECUTIVE BOARD. THE COMMITTEE WORKS WITH THE MMC'S FINANCE AND BUSINESS INTEGRITY DEPARTMENTS FOR OVERSIGHT. THE COMMITTEE MEETS AT LEAST TWICE EACH YEAR AND REPORTS ACTIVITY TO THE BOARD. (3) THE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE REVIEWS STUDENT APPLICATIONS FOR THE AUXILIARY SCHOLARSHIP AND AWARDS THE SCHOLARSHIPS BASED ON SPECIFIC CRITERIA. THE FINANCE COMMITTEE BUDGETS FOR THE SCHOLARSHIPS WITH BOARD APPROVAL. (4) THE GIFT AND MEMORIAL COMMITTEE ACCEPTS AND ACKNOWLEDGES DONATIONS IN HONOR OR MEMORY OF INDIVIDUALS. THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE COMMITTEE REPORTS ACTIVITY TO THE BOARD. BY A SPECIAL MOTION OF THE BOARD, DONATIONS MAY BE MADE FROM THE AUXILIARY TREASURY TO HONOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE SUPPORTED THE AUXILIARY AND MEDICAL STAFF OFFICERS. (5) THE TIME COMMITTEE KEEPS RECORDS OF ALL HOURS OF SERVICE PROVIDED BY VOLUNTEERS. A REPORT IS PRESENTED TO THE BOARD MONTHLY.
