	Staff representatives/lawyers represent members before the employers. This involves handling grievances and other employee concerns. The intent is to protect employee rights and dignity. Staff representatives also meet with members site by site over the school year to determine what issues concern them.

Schedule D, Part IV, Line 2b	The United Teachers of New Orleans won a lawsuit against the New Orleans Public Schools in the amount of $7,000,000. UTNO received two payments of $3,500,000 each to act as the holder of the funds for distribution to members. A third party administrator was originally hired to determine the legitimacy of each applicant's claim and make the distributions. Currently, any remaining claims are processed by UTNO staff. The payees consist of New Orleans Public School employees at the time of Hurricane Katrina. Disbursements range from $1,000 to $2,000 per applicant. During 2019-2020 UTNO released $40,000.

UTNO received two payments of $3,500,000 each to act as the holder of the funds for distribution to members. A third party administrator was originally hired to determine the legitimacy of each applicant's claim and make the distributions. Currently, any remaining claims are processed by UTNO staff. The payees consist of New Orleans Public School employees at the time of Hurricane Katrina. Disbursements range from $1,000 to $2,000 per applicant. During 2019-2020 UTNO released $40,000.
