Ag Education Clayton County Farm Bureaustrongly supports agricultural education and our mission is toimproveagriculture literacy andto make students and teachers aware of the importance of agricultureto our local economy and way of life. Due to COVID-19 we were not able to conduct in person AgricultureinThe Classroom AITC activities in 2020, however ag literacy kits were assembled. Families could request the number of kits needed for their children the kits were then mailed to individual homes. Many activities were offered via Facebook allowing parents to use the activities when it fit their schedules. In 2020, Clayton County Farm Bureau continued to support the wages of an Ag in the Classroom Coordinator, whosejobincludedpromotingagriculture through Agriculture in the Classroom programming. |

Agricultural Promotions Clayton County Farm Bureau promotes the consumption of real dairy products through local 5k running events. During the races, Clayton County Farm Bureau provides chocolate milk at the finish line paired with signage showcasing nutritional facts on the importance properly refueling the body after physical activity. |

Policy Development Clayton County Farm Bureau met with state and national legislators to discuss issues of importance and issues affecting agriculture. They met with the County Supervisors to discuss issues affecting members and the community. Clayton County Farm Bureau developed an opinionnaire survey for our members to acquire input on local as well as national issues of importance. Once the results were collected the issues were discussed, and once approved, policy was adopted. |
