| Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 28 | Public relations 3600 The company sponsors a scholarship program to eligible county high school graduates. The company makes donations to area food banks to help the public who are struggling with needs. In 2020, due to some events being cancelled, we donated those funds to the county food bank. We provided financial support to a nonprofit organization which helps gives people a hand up vs a hand-out. The directors are large supporters of local FFA chapters and work with schools to provide Ag education and awareness. |
| Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 29 | Public relations 1500 The company supports its county fair. In 2020 we invested 1500.00 towards a live steam feed from the fair of the various livestock shows and video of 4-H static projects. This made the fair shows available to the public and extended family and friends online. The commentary on the video also taught viewers about the various species and information about the different breeds. Four members of the company board serve as fair board members and gives directors the opportunity to converse with the general public about FB and farmer actions. |
| Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 30 | Public relations 1246 The company values the members opinions on all issues affecting agriculture. Each fall we ask for member input on the topics the company should be working on. We then give an opportunity for members to view all issues brought up statewide and indicate which issues are a priority. In March of each year, we send out a survey asking members opinions on several issues that were the most important to the membership. Our board of directors uses that information to come up with policy for the company. We present our policy at the company annual meeting held in August. A delegate from the company takes the suggested issues and speaks for the company at the state conference. The format of our annual meeting had to be adjusted in 2020 due to Covid-19. A website was set up for our members to review financial reports and vote for directors via a proxy ballot. The company kept our office open to continue to serve the public during the pandemic. |
