SENECA HEIGHTS APARTMENTS, A FORMER MOTEL, WAS CONVERTED BY MCCH TO PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR 40 FORMERLY HOMELESS SINGLE ADULTS AND 17 FAMILIES. MCCH CONTRACTS WITH THE COUNTY FOR THE OPERATION OF THE FACILITY AND RECEIVES FUNDING FROM HUD, HOC, AND MONTGOMERY COUNTY DHHS AND RENTAL FEES PAID BY TENANTS. HOME FIRST (I AND II) PROVIDES PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING IN A COMBINATION OF SINGLE-SITE AND SCATTERED-SITE UNITS IN SILVER SPRING FOR 30 FORMERLY HOMELESS ADULTS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED PROLONGED EPISODES OF HOMELESSNESS (CHRONIC HOMELESSNESS) AND WHO HAVE A DIAGNOSED DISABILITY. THE PROJECT IS FUNDED THROUGH HUD AND MONTGOMERY COUNTY DHHS. THE CREATIVE HOUSING INITIATIVE PROGRAM (CHIP) PROVIDES PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING IN A SCATTERED-SITE PROGRAM WITH 16 UNITS OF HOUSING IN A SINGLE CONDOMINIUM COMPLEX IN GERMANTOWN. CHIP WAS CREATED TO HOUSE FORMERLY HOMELESS ADULTS WHO WERE FREQUENT USERS OF THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL AND CORRECTIONS SYSTEMS. THE PROGRAM INCLUDES AN ACADEMIC STUDY THAT EVALUATED COST SAVINGS BY PROVIDING PERMANENT HOUSING. CHIP IS FUNDED WITH A PRIVATE FOUNDATION GRANT. CORDELL PLACE PROVIDES PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING TO 32 FORMERLY HOMELESS SINGLE MEN AND WOMEN IN A RENOVATED OFFICE BUILDING IN BETHESDA FEATURING PERSONAL LIVING QUARTERS, SHARED KITCHENS, A COMMUNITY ROOM, AND OTHER AMENITIES. THE PROJECT IS FUNDED BY HUD AND MONTGOMERY COUNTY DHHS. THE VULNERABILITY INITIATIVE PROGRAM (VIP) PROVIDES SCATTERED-SITE PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING WITH MEDICAL SUPPORT SERVICES TO 15 FORMERLY HOMELESS ADULTS IDENTIFIED AS THE MOST MEDICALLY VULNERABLE. THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY COUNCIL PROVIDED INITIAL FUNDING TO IMMEDIATELY HOUSE THESE INDIVIDUALS AND PROVIDE INTENSIVE SERVICES. VIP IS NOW FUNDED THROUGH MONTGOMERY COUNTY DHHS. OPERATION HOMECOMING (OH): PROVIDES SCATTERED-SITE PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR 24 FORMERLY HOMELESS VETERAN HOUSEHOLDS INCLUDING 19 SINGLE ADULTS AND FIVE FAMILIES. THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY (MC) COUNCIL AND HOC AWARDED RESOURCES FOR THESE HOUSEHOLDS TO FUND SUBSIDIZED HOUSING AND DEEP SUPPORTIVE SERVICES AS PART OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY'S SUCCESSFUL EFFORTS TO END VETERAN HOMELESSNESS BY 2016. OH IS NOW FUNDED THROUGH MONTGOMERY COUNTY DHHS. KEYS FIRST PROVIDES SCATTERED-SITE PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR 32 FORMERLY CHRONICALLY HOMELESS HOUSEHOLDS INCLUDING 29 SINGLE ADULTS AND THREE FAMILIES. KEYS FIRST WAS ESTABLISHED TO HELP ACHIEVE MONTGOMERY COUNTY'S GOAL OF ENDING CHRONIC HOMELESSNESS BY END OF 2017. THIS PROGRAM IS FUNDED BY HUD AND MONTGOMERY COUNTY DHHS. ARCHWAYS PROVIDES SCATTERED-SITE PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR UP TO 103 HOUSEHOLDS, INCLUDING FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS, MOST OF WHOM EXPERIENCED CHRONIC HOMELESSNESS IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY.
