WORKING COLLABORATIVELY, THE TWO ORGANIZATIONS HAVE ADAPTED TO CLOSURES, RESTRICTIONS AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS, AND HAVE DEVELOPED NEW MODELS OF FOOD DISTRIBUTION AND ACCESS, LED BY SPRING OFFICERS. THE ORGANIZATIONS ARE RESPONDING TO LOCAL DEMAND THAT HAS INCREASED BY OVER 100% BETWEEN MID- MARCH 2020 - JUNE 2020; AND BY OVER 300% BETWEEN MID- MARCH, 2020 AND MARCH, 2021. IN THE SPRING AND SUMMER OF 2020, ON A MONTHLY BASIS, AN AVERAGE OF 150 FAMILIES, TOTALING 550 PEOPLE RECEIVED SHELF-STABLE FOOD, FRESH PRODUCE AND ADDITIONAL PREPARED MEALS FROM PARTNERSHIPS CREATED WITH LOCAL RESTAURANTS AND CATERERS. DOBBS FERRY FAMILIES SERVED BY SPRING VISITING THE PANTRY COMPRISED AN AVERAGE OF 100 FAMILIES, 410 PEOPLE. THANKS TO THE GENEROSITY OF DONORS, GRANTS AND FUND-RAISING BY BOTH ORGANIZATIONS, FAMILIES HAVE ALSO RECEIVED GROCERY STORE GIFT CARDS TO SUPPLEMENT ADDITIONAL FOOD NEEDS. THE COLLABORATION OF EFFORTS OF THE TWO ORGANIZATIONS AND SUPPORTING INDIVIDUALS, FAITH COMMUNITIES AND ORGANIZATIONS EXPANDS CAPACITY, ALLOWING US TO WORK COOPERATIVELY, EFFICIENTLY, AND RESPONSIVELY IDENTIFYING AND COMMUNICATING WITH FAMILIES IN NEED, AND DIRECTLY ADDRESSING FOOD INSECURITY AND HUNGER THAT EMANATE FROM THE COVID CRISIS.
