There is reasonable cause for late filing. This 990 return was in fact filed on Oct 5, 2020 on paper and mailed via USPS to the IRS, Ogden, UT. However, via a recent notice dated June 7, 2021 (notice CP259A) from the IRS it is noted that e filing is required for 990 returns. I am not a professional return preparer and not aware of the e filing requirement. Returns have always been filed promptly, on time in the past. And this e filing is quickly responsive to the requirement letter dated June 7 2021. Thank you.
