Form 990, Part VI, Line 6: Explanation of Classes of Members or Shareholder	The association has general members that include journeymen and apprentices. Journeymen are either "active" or "retired" and any member that has paid dues for 50 continuous years is a lifetime member that gets free monthly dues.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 7a: How Members or Shareholders Elect Governing Body	The general members with currently paid dues are eligible to vote to elect members of the governing board and vote on various association decisions. Apprentice members, after successful completion of the third apprenticeship year, are entitled to vote at Local Union meetings and in Local Union elections. Members with unpaid dues for three or more months, and members that have paid a reinstatement fee within the last year cannot vote during an election.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 7b: Describe Decisions of Governing Body Approval by Members or Shareholders	The general members with currently paid dues are eligible to vote to elect members of the governing board and vote on various association decisions. Apprentice members, after successful completion of the third apprenticeship year, are entitled to vote at Local Union meetings and in Local Union elections.
