    Summary of Direct Charitable Activities
    List the foundation’s four largest direct charitable activities during the tax year. Include relevant statistical information such as the number of organizations and other beneficiaries served, conferences convened, research papers produced, etc. Expenses
    1 Peru Hovde House This facility houses 32 girls, all victims of sexual abuse. Several of them at any time are pregnant or bearing young children as a result of their abuse. This home is a shelter, where the girls find refuge, love, education, healthcare, nutrition, and parenting skills while their aggressors face justice. The girls do not return home until their aggressors are in jail. The Hovde Foundation donated $338,114 this year to support operating expenses as well as the transition of the program's management to a new organization. 338,114
    2 Ghana Hovde House Our partner in Ghana, Challenging Heights, rescues children from slavery/trafficking on Lake Volta, helps them recover from the atrocities they experienced and then reintegrates them with their families. The Hovde Foundation funded $241,353 this year to make critical repairs to the rehabilitation shelter as well as to support the shelter's operating expenses. 241,353
    3 Rwanda Hovde House Our partner in Rwanda, Hope for Life, provides physical, emotional and spiritual healing for orphaned, neglected and abandoned children in and around Kigali, Rwanda. They have been growing steadily over the last few years and are in need of more space, and last year we decided to help them build a second Hovde Home. The new home will house up to 32 additional children. This year, the Hovde Foundation granted $216,838 for construction and operational expenses. 216,838
    4 Bolivia Hovde House Our partner, Alalay, provides holistic care and education to street children in Bolivia. The Hovde Home specifically cares for 30 abandoned and abused girls who were working the streets of La Paz and El Alto.
