What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? With over 500 members, the objective of the Northern Virginia Gun Club is the encouragement of organized legal small arms shooting among citizens of the United States with a view towards a better knowledge on the part of such citizens of the safe handling and proper care of firearms, as well as improve marksmanship. We encourage the development of those characteristics of honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance that are the essentials of good sportsmanship and the foundation of true patriotism. We provide an opportunity for both members and guests within the area to participate in rifle, shotgun, pistol and archery sporting events. We offer the use of our facilities to Boy Scouts of America troops and packs in the region in achieving their goals. We support youth shooting groups in King George county through sponsorship of various youth shooting programs.

The NVGC Executive Committee cautiously resumed operations following restrictions associated with COVID-19 pandemic. The Club continued to function and remain open. Club expenses were less during the fiscal year mostly because of reduced use of ranges (less wear and tear) and less participants at Club organized work partys (maintenance events).
