ALL EMPLOYEES CONVERTED FROM NEARLY ALL WORKING IN-PERSON AT THE OFFICE, TO NEARLY ALL WORKING REMOTELY 100 PERCENT OF THE TIME. THESE PUBLIC HEALTH MEASURES, WHILE EFFECTIVE AGAINST THE SPREAD OF COVID-19, CAUSED A DRAMATIC DECREASE IN ECONOMIC ACTIVITY AS THE PUBIC LIMITED ITS ACTIVITY OUTSIDE THE HOME. IN SPRING 2020, WOLF TRAP FACED A STATE MANDATE TO CLOSE AND A COMPLETE SHUTDOWN OF THE TOURING INDUSTRY. WOLF TRAP LOST ITS ENTIRE 2020 SUMMER SEASON, AT THE FILENE CENTER, AND ITS ENTIRE 2020 BARNS FALL SEASON, WHICH REPRESENTS 90% OF ITS EARNED REVENUE IN A GIVEN YEAR. WOLF TRAP'S ABILITY TO BRING LARGE GROUPS OF PEOPLE TOGETHER AND AT THE SAME TIME FULFILL ITS NON-PROFIT MANDATE OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY WAS EITHER SEVERELY COMPROMISED OR COMPLETELY PREVENTED. |
