This return was filed in January 2021 and again in September 2021. Both of these returns were filed by mail with a hard copy being sent to the IRS. The latter return was returned to us, stating that it needed to be electronically filed. There was no malicious intent not to file this tax return. We were unaware that there was a new requirement to file electronically. As soon as the IRS informed us of this new requirement, we are refiling the tax return as requested.
