Form 990, Part I, Line 1, Brief Description of Organization Activities:	The Direct Selling Association (DSA) is the national trade association for companies that offer entrepreneurial opportunities to independent sellers to market and sell products and services, typically outside of a fixed retail establishment. More than 16 million Americans are involved in direct selling in every state, congressional district and community in the United States. In 2020, direct selling generated $___ billion in retail sales.
Form 990, Part III, Line 1, Description of Organization Mission:	To protect, serve and promote the effectiveness of member companies and the independent business people they represent. To ensure that the marketing by member companies of products and/or the direct sales opportunity is conducted with the highest level of business ethics and service to consumers.
Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 2	Some members of the Board of Directors of the Association also serve on the corporate boards of other members.

DSA conducts an orientation of all new board members which includes discussion and disclosure of any conflicts of interest, as well as ongoing briefings throughout the year by the Board of Directors on this topic.
Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15	Compensation for the top two management officials (President and Secretary) is set by formal committee. Compensation and benefits are negotiated by this committee with staff on a periodic basis. At the last contract negotiation, a complete study was done by an independent third party.
Form 990, Part VI, Section C, line 19	The Form 990 is available to the public upon request. Copies will be provided immediately in the case of in-person requests.
