| PART III STATEMENT OF PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS, LINE 4A | PLANTING CHURCHES AMONG THE UNREACHED: THE PURPOSE OF TO EVERY TRIBE IS TO SEE JESUS WORSHIPED AMONG ALL PEOPLES. WE BELIEVE THIS OCCURS AT ITS FULLEST THROUGH INDIGENOUS LOCAL CHURCHES. AS MISSIONARY TEAMS ARE SENT, IT IS OUR DESIRE TO SEE THEM DO EVANGELISM AND DISCIPLE-MAKING THAT LEADS TO THE FORMATION OF LOCAL CHURCHES THAT ARE HEALTHY AND REPRODUCING. WE SEEK TO PLANT INDIGENOUS CHURCHES THAT ARE SELF-LED, SELF-SUPPORTING, SELF-THEOLOGIZING, AND SELF-REPRODUCING. CHURCH PLANTING STRATEGYTO EVERY TRIBES STRATEGY OF PLANTING CHURCHES AMONG THE UNREACHED INVOLVES MOBILIZING, TRAINING, AND SENDING MISSIONARIES:MOBILIZING: TO EVERY TRIBE PARTNERS WITH CHURCHES TO PROVIDE RESOURCES THAT HELP EXTEND THE MISSIONAL FOOTPRINT OF THE LOCAL CHURCH. WE DO THIS THROUGH SPEAKING EVENTS, CONFERENCES, AND PROVIDING MATERIALS TO EQUIP THE LOCAL CHURCH. WE ALSO TRAIN, COACH, AND EQUIP OUR MISSIONARIES AND STAFF THROUGHOUT THE PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROCESS, HELPING THEM BUILD AND MAINTAIN EFFECTIVE MINISTRY PARTNERSHIPS THAT WILL FUEL THEIR MINISTRIES WITH TO EVERY TRIBE THROUGH PRAYER AND FUND THEIR WORK THROUGH INTENTIONAL GIVING.TRAINING: THE FIRST TERM FOR ALL OF OUR MISSIONARIES IS SPENT SERVING ON A CHURCH PLANTING TEAM. DURING THIS FIRST FIELD ASSIGNMENT, OUR MISSIONARIES ARE TRAINED, GUIDED, AND TAUGHT BY VETERAN MISSIONARIES AND CHURCH PLANTERS. WE HELP OUR MISSIONARIES LEARN HOW TO CROSS A CULTURE, BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH LOCAL PEOPLE, BE FRUITFUL IN MISSION, ENDURE ON THE FIELD, SHARE THE GOSPEL, MAKE DISCIPLES, AND PLANT CHURCHES. THIS TRAINING OCCURS BOTH IN A CLASSROOM SETTING WITH EXPERIENCED INSTRUCTORS WHO HAVE CROSSED CULTURES THEMSELVES, AS WELL AS IN THE FIELD. WE TRAIN FOR MISSION IN THE CONTEXT OF MISSION.SENDING: AFTER TO EVERY TRIBE MISSIONARIES HAVE COMPLETED THEIR TRAINING AND FIRST TERM OF SERVICE, THEY WILL BE APPOINTED TO SERVE LONG-TERM IN ONE OF OUR FIELDS. WE PREPARE OUR MISSIONARIES TO SUCCESSFULLY TRANSITION OUT OF THEIR CURRENT SETTING, AND WE THEN GUIDE THEM INTO THEIR NEW CROSS-CULTURAL MISSION TO PLANT CHURCHES AMONG THE UNREACHED.CHURCH PLANTING ACCOMPLISHMENTSNORTHERN MEXICO: WE CONTINUED TO FOSTER RELATIONSHIPS WITH CHURCHES ON THE UNITED STATES SIDE OF THE BORDER THAT ARE COMMITTED TO LONG-TERM CHURCH PLANTING EFFORTS IN NORTHERN MEXICO. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ONE OF THESE CHURCHES, WE WORKED TO PLANT A CHURCH IN THE UNITED STATES NEAR THE BORDER FOCUSING ON TRANSNATIONAL FAMILIES. A TRANSNATIONAL FAMILY IS A FAMILY WHERE PART OF THE FAMILY LIVES IN MEXICO AND ANOTHER PART LIVES IN THE UNITED STATES. IN ORDER TO REACH A WHOLE FAMILY WE MUST PLANT ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BORDER, AND OUR CHURCH PLANT NORTH OF THE BORDER HAS ELDERS AND IS IN PROCESS TO PURCHASE A CHURCH FACILITY, FROM WHICH TO LAUNCH ITS MEMBERS TO PLANT AND STRENGTHEN LOCAL CHURCHES SOUTH OF THE BORDER.SOUTHERN MEXICO: WE HAVE PLACED OUR TEAM, CONSISTING OF ONE FAMILY AND ONE SINGLE, IN OAXACA CITY. THEY HAVE ESTABLISHED KEY RELATIONSHIPS WITH WHAT COULD BECOME BOTH THE PLATFORM CHURCH AND NETWORK CHURCHES. AND THEY HAVE BEGUN TRAVELING TO INVESTIGATE THE MORE REMOTE UNREACHED AREAS IN THE STATE OF OAXACA. DURING THEIR TRAVELS, THEY ARE MEETING WITH CHRISTIANS AND PASTORS WHO CAN DIRECT THEM TO COMMUNITIES THAT LACK CHURCHES.CANADA: WE ARE CONTINUING TO DEVELOP TWO REMOTE CHURCHES WHICH ARE FUELED BY INDIGENOUS LEADERSHIP. WE ARE ALSO CONTINUING TO STRENGTHEN OUR PLATFORM TEAM THAT IS NOW ABLE TO RECEIVE NEW MISSION TEAMS AND PROVIDE LOGISTICAL SUPPORT FOR THE CHURCH PLANTING TEAMS. ADDITIONALLY, WE HAVE PLACED ANOTHER MISSIONARY WHO IS ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN EVANGELISTIC YOUTH MINISTRY IN THE PLATFORM CITY.PAPUA NEW GUINEA: WE CONTINUE TO STRATEGIZE WITH OUR MISSIONARIES CURRENTLY IN PAPUA NEW GUINEA TOWARDS THE PRACTICAL MEANS TO EXPAND THIS MINISTRY. THERE ARE TWO REMOTE AREAS WHICH ARE RIPE WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR CHURCH PLANTS. IN ADDITION, WE CONTINUE TO WORK WITH A NETWORK OF LOCAL CHURCHES, LOOKING TO DEVELOP MORE INDIGENOUS LEADERSHIP WHO WILL TAKE THE REINS TO FURTHER THE CHURCH PLANTING WORK AMONG THOSE TWO SPECIFIC PEOPLES IN THE EASTERN HIGHLANDS. AND WE HAVE ALSO PLACED ANOTHER MISSIONARY IN THIS FIELD, WHO HAS RECENTLY COMPLETED LANGUAGE AND CULTURE ACQUISITION.ECUADOR: WE CONTINUE TO FOCUS ON EVANGELISTIC ACTIVITIES IN TWO LOCATIONS, LOOKING FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO LAUNCH TWO CHURCH PLANTS. WE ARE INVESTIGATING OPTIONS FOR THE PLATFORM CHURCH. WE ARE DEVELOPING A STRATEGY THAT WILL UTILIZE OUR CURRENT MISSIONARY STRENGTHS, WHILE ALSO PREPARING THIS FIELD TO RECEIVE TEAMMATES. THEY HAVE LOCAL SUPPORT IN THESE COMMUNITIES FOR THE EVANGELISTIC EFFORTS, AND WE ANTICIPATE SEEING THIS MINISTRY GROW. THIS TEAM IS ALSO CONTINUING TO BUILD THEIR SUPPORT NETWORKS. |
