THE FOUNDATION WAS FORMED PRINCIPALLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF FOUNDING AND MAINTAINING, IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, AN ART INSTITUTE TO ACQUIRE BY PURCHASE, EXCHANGE, GIFT, AND BEQUEST PAINTINGS AND OTHER ART OBJECTS FOR PUBLIC EXHIBITION WITHOUT PROFIT, AND TO PURCHASE, ERECT OR OTHERWISE ACQUIRE SUITABLE SITES AND STRUCTURES FOR SUCH PURPOSE, AND THEREBY TO PROMOTE THE STUDY AND APPRECIATION OF ART.
