OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 28: Cohesion Foundation Trust-In Gujarat, the student motivation program Sikshanas Prerana is being run in3 districts with Vibha as the funding partner, Cohesion Foundation Trust as the Implementation Partner and Sikshana as the Knowledge Partner. From its inception in 2019, the program saw good results in about 4 months time before the pandemic struck, halting all the planned activities. As in other states, the field mentors quickly adapted to the new normal life and revamped the program to suit each childs requirement and tried to reach them out individually at their homes, as they believed that although Schools are closed, but education must continue OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 29: Samavesh-Established and strengthened learning centres for children at community level during the pandemic when schools were closed. 16 learning centers are largely managed and run by children themselves. Older children are identified as Resource children who teach the younger children. 80 children are serving as resource persons at these centers providing remedial education for to approximately 500 children.Over 300 mothers were also engaged in ensuring children do take the opportunity to learn. They were also actively involved in developing and making teaching learning materials.Although Samavesh had planned for an outreach to only 50 schools during the year 2020-2021, they were able to reach out to 82 schools through change in their strategy.
