29 Behavioral Health Initiatives 1 Held the 2021 Mental Health Summit, titled Advancing Equitable Mental Health Outcomes for Racially/Ethnically Diverse Populations on Friday, September 24th from 9am - 1pm. The summit was partnership with the UNC Charlotte School of Social Work, Department of Counseling, Urban Education Collaborative, Race and Social Equity Academy and Center for Counseling and Psychological Services. Attendees heard from expert speakers in behavioral health, along with researchers, practitioners, clinicians, health system leaders, and civic leaders. Participants attended breakout sessions with speakers representing hospital systems, faith-based communities, academia, community-based organizations and practitioners. High school students from North Carolina and South Carolina attended a Youth-Only breakout session and participated in discussions centering around hope and the mental and emotional wellbeing of teens and young adults. The keynote speaker was Rheeda Walker, PhD, award-winning Professor of Psychology, Licensed Psychologist, Researcher and author of "The Unapologetic Guide to Black Mental Health". Cardinal Innovations Healthcare, Novant Health and UNC Charlotte were the event level sponsors and NCDHHS was an event level supporter. Other corporate sponsors included Atrium Health and Mecklenburg County Public Health. Monarch and Johnson C Smith University Counseling Services served as key exhibitors. A UNC Charlotte Chancellor's Diversity Challenge Fund grant was approved to help support the UNC partnership for the summit. The partnership included graduate student administrative support and the event evaluation. Four Champion For Mental Health Honorees and one Lifetime Mental Health Champion were honored. A month long, culturally focused media campaign titled "Equitable Access and Quality Mental Healthcare for All" was conducted. The campaign included television and radio interviews and a series of videos featuring UNC Charlotte faculty and students along with event panelists and speakers. 2 Cardinal Innovations Healthcare honored our President and CEO and the organization as a Mental Health Advocate in their February article "Black Leaders in Mental Health |Making History at the Local Level" 3 Participate as a key community stakeholder of the Urban Education Collaborative at UNC Charlotte's Mental Health Research & Practice Division Initiative Team. Our President and CEO served as lead for the Practice Team. LIVING WATERS INC Statement of Program Service Accomplishments-2021 2 4 Included in a ground breaking federal grant proposal for black youth mental health that was submitted by UNC Charlotte. 5 Continued to facilitate discussions with leaders from Village HeartBeat (VHB), Inc., and NCDHHS - Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services and UNC Charlotte for a faith-based mental health initiative. The meetings and subsequent submission of a grant request via VBH, Inc., resulted in NCDHHS's approval of funding. The approval to fund a Faith/Mental Health Initiative to improve mental health outcomes in communities of color is the first of its kind in North Carolina. It is a major accomplishment for Living Waters Inc and the Black faith community in North Carolina. 6 Planned and promoted the "Youth Mental Health: Let's Talk About It" virtual event. The event was originally scheduled for December 4. 2021 to allow for interactive conversations with youth ages 14-21 years old about issues that impact their mental and emotional wellbeing. It was postponed due unforeseen circumstances. 7 Selected as one of three participating organizations in the UNC Charlotte RASE Academy Community Partnership Pilot during academic year 2021-2022. The focus of the pilot is to support minority-owned business and minority-operated nonprofit organization working in behavioral healthcare and helping in increasing capacity and sustainability work. 8 The Natural Helping Network Master Life/Behavioral Health Initiative provided non-counseling services for two adults in crisis and experiencing heightened emotional/behavioral issues.

30 B. Circle of Women A discipleship program that educates, inspires and empowers women of all generations to live freely in their faith. The program focus includes hosting quarterly retreats, workshops and other activities to allow women of faith to heal from trauma and emotional distress. Program activities include one-on-one coaching upon request. 1 Hosted 8 monthly meetings, virtual and conference call. 2 Held two brunches, one of which was a special brunch in May where handmade Mother's Day gift baskets were raffled as a fundraiser to support the program. 3 Provided one-one-one coaching sessions to members when needed.

C. Men Of Valor & Excellence (MOVE) The Men of Valor Project challenges men from all walks of life to reach their full potential mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Whether it be through a men's breakfast, a retreat or just a few men talking over a good cup of coffee, the Men of Valor Project provides learning and social activities for men of color ages 18 and above to cope with emotional and social stress and anxieties; reduce isolation, an strengthen their mental health and wellbeing. 1 The MOVE Team continued its partnership with Coach Scott, APSi to develop program activities and recruit more members. The Move Team created a website for the program, to promote registration for training courses and for attendees to log in and retrieve courses materials and do self-training. In January, the MOVE Team launched the official MOVE website. In April, the MOVE Team began a free, virtual 12 weekly pilot training program that was conducted every Monday. The program engaged 10 men from the Charlotte area and across the country. The Pilot program as whole was a great success and it will laid the foundation for the future of the Men's Training Program and for the overall MOVE program. 2 On May 4th, the MOVE Team was interviewed on Praise 101.9 Community Voice radio show with Ron Holland to highlight the program and promote the pilot training program.

D. Bloom Gracefully A healing circle program for young and adult women who seek, empowerment, healing, counsel, and accountability. Program activities includes small group discussions to connect, empower and equip young women with the tools to overcome adversity and emotional distress. One-on-one coaching sessions are provided upon request. 1 Provided one-on-one coaching and support to three young women at least twice per month via text and telephone during the year.

Master Life Discipleship Program Provides comprehensive, Christian discipleship to pastors, lay staff, individuals and families in Charlotte, NC and its surrounding areas through bible study and counseling (individual, couple and family). 1 Apostle Kevin Graham, an educational and leadership development consultant to faithbased organizations joined as a volunteer to help support the Master Life activities. 2 On July 30, 2021 from 7:00pm - 8:30pm, hosted "Depression In the Ministry, Breaking The Stigma". The event purpose was to engage selected ministry leaders in a moderated, yet candid discussions concerning the struggles of dealing with trauma, depression, and suicidal thoughts and addictions whiling leading the flock. The speakers, panelist and audience included seasoned and emerging lay and ordained faith and ministry leaders from the southern region and around the country. 3 Participated in a Facebook live radio show to discuss the "Depression In The Ministry" event and our behavioral health activities to support ministries. 4 Held weekly work sessions to review and categorize the Master Life lesson for the past decade. The lessons will be converted in to published curriculums that can be purchased and used for workshops, conferences, and small group online/in person training. 5 Held 12 weekly in person/telephone Master Life discipleship sessions.
