Form 990, Part III, Line 1	- This organization is a fraternal organization that supports masonic work and charities. It also provides local scholarships to needy students in our community.
Form 990, Part IV, Line 10	- The organization has assets in a permanent endowment fund that is controlled by the Grand Lodge of Texas and annually if the fund is profitable an amount is paid each lodge that has purchased said endowment. These funds generated are used for maintenance of building and organizational goals.
Form 990, Part IV, Line 11a	Current values for land and building for Cosmopolitan Lodge #872 were taken from The Jefferson County tax rolls and reflect fair market value.

There is no official process used by the organization to review the form 990 with the governing body of Cosmopolitan Lodge #872 but it has been the custom of the organization that the officers of Cosmopolitan Lodge #872 meet with the District Deputy Grand Master of The Grand Lodge of Texas before his official visit to the lodge to discuss any matters of Grand Lodge of Texas and its subordinate lodges including finances. This is done each year and the District Deputy Grand Master receives a copy of the IRS form 990 is then sent to the Grand Lodge of Texas for their files and the form 990 is filed with the IRS and auditing committee of the organization who reports on the contents of the 990 form at a stated meeting of the organization.
