THE MUSANA EMPOWERMENT CENTER ENROLLED 40 WOMEN IN BUSINESS TRAINING AND TAILORING, KNITTING OR HAIRDRESSING, GIVING THEM THE ABILITY TO GENERATE INCOME TO SUPPORT THEMSELVES AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE NGO PROVIDED FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT WITH MONTHLY SALARIES TO 385 UGANDANS. IN ADDITION TO REGULAR OPERATIONS, VARIOUS COVID-19 RELIEF PROGRAMS TOOK PLACE. THESE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: A HOME SCHOOL INITIATIVE PROVIDED 12,143 STUDENTS AN EDUCATION DURING SCHOOL CLOSURES, 5,500 ADDITIONAL STUDENTS RECEIVED SELF-STUDY MATERIALS, AND ALL 385 STAFF WERE PROVIDED SALARIES. |

IN BUKONA, WE CONSTRUCTED AN INCINERATOR, PAVED, AND LANDSCAPED THE CAMPUS, PUT TERRAZZO IN THE DINING, RENOVATED BATHROOMS AND DORMITORIES, AND PUT SOLAR PANELS ACROSS THE CAMPUS. AT MUSANA VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, WE CONSTRUCTED STAFF HOUSING, ADDED ON THE THIRD STORY OF THE SKILLS CLASSROOM BLOCK, CONSTRUCTED A WALL FENCE, CONSTRUCTED A CHURCH, FURNISHED THE NEW A-LEVEL CLASSROOMS AND LABS, AND PURCHASED MORE BEDS AND MUSIC EQUIPMENT. AT MUSANA COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER, WE PURCHASED ADDITIONAL MEDICAL EQUIPMENT INCLUDING AN ANESTHESIA MACHINE, ULTRASOUND MACHINE, INCUBATORS, MONITORS, MICROSCOPES, AND EXAM LIGHTS. AT SOL VIEW RESTAURANT, RENOVATIONS WERE MADE AND A CONFERENCE HALL AND ADDITIONAL PATIO WAS CONSTRUCTED. IN KALIRO DISTRICT, WE CONSTRUCTED A NEW HOSPITAL FROM THE GROUND UP AND PURCHASED LAND FOR A RESTAURANT. AT THE PRIMARY SCHOOL, WE CONSTRUCTED CLASSROOM BLOCKS, AN ADMINISTRATIVE BUILDING, BATHROOMS, STAFF HOUSING, AND WE COMPLETED FURNISHING OF THE SCHOOL. IN KAMULI, WE CONTINUED CONSTRUCTION ON A NEW NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL. |

MUCH HIGHER GRANTS TO SUPPORT OPERATING ACTIVITIES WERE REQUIRED IN 2021 AND A COVID-19 RELIEF FUND WAS LAUNCHED TO MEET THE DIRE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY. THROUGH THE RELIEF FUND, MUSANA DID THE FOLLOWING: - PROVIDED FOOD TO THE COMMUNITY PREVENTING WIDESPREAD HUNNGER IN OUR IMMEDIATE NEIGHBORHOODS. - LAUNCHED A HOMESCHOOL PROGRAM THAT REACHED OVER 12,000 STUDENTS IN VILLAGES, KEEPING THEIR SPIRITS ENGAGED AND THEIR MINDS ACTIVE. - DUE TO THE CLOSURE OF ALL NON-ESSENTIAL BUSINESSES AND SCHOOLS, THE MAJORITY OF UGANDANS LOST THEIR SOURCES OF INCOME. MUSANA WAS ABLE TO SUPPORT ALL EMPLOYEES. |
