	Traditionally, URMIA hosted a series of spring regional conferences in locations around the US. Due to the lingering coronavirus pandemic, we upgraded our 2021 regional conferences to one exciting virtual conference series. The program focused on the four areas of URMIAs Core Competencies for Higher Education Risk Managers. This new format offered registrants two half-day sessions each month from February through May. That was eight dates for networking and learning that were conveniently spread out over the entire spring. The programming for each month covered one competency and focused on its sub-competencies. We hosted the virtual events from 1-5pm ET. The series had 377 individuals register for it.

	We Emerged from the Storm for our 52nd Annual Conference in Seattle, WA from October 16-20, 2021. We were thrilled to be together. In addition to the in-person experience, we offered a selection of virtual components for those who were not ready or able to travel. Our hybrid model was informed by our 50 years of conference experience and by all that we learned in successfully delivering virtual conferences and other professional development during the past year.

	Highlights from the 52nd Annual Conference included three general sessions. The first was titled The Future Campus. The definition of the college experience changed dramatically for students, faculty, and staff during the pandemic. The session asked you to consider your institutions path forward, which of these changes should you embrace as part of a new and better model of how you deliver learning and the on-campus experience for students, as well as how you reimagine the work environment for faculty and staff. The panelists offered thought-provoking insights on these questions and more. The presenters included Andre Le Duc, Chief Resilience Officer, University of Oregon, Cole Clark, Managing Director, Higher Education, Deloitte Services, LP and Courtney H. McBeth, Ed.D., SVP, Strada Impact Operations, Strada Education Network. The second general session was a lively and informative conversation titled, Equity-Conscious Leadership Evaluating Innovative Practices and Mitigating Risk. Tricia D. Brand, Ed.M, Chief Diversity Officer, at Portland Community College shared

Form 990, Part III, Line 4c	Colleges and universities have faced a number of challenges and opportunities, including the COVID-19 pandemic, a rapid pivot to remote teaching, acknowledgement of system racial inequities, and a period of deep socio-political divides on campuses. This talk focused on promoting ways to think, engage, and evaluate as equity-conscious risk managers helping to mitigate and innovate core practices in higher education. Our third session was a panel of presidents titled, Presidential Perspectives on Risk Management and the Future it was moderated by our two conference chairs Samuel Florio, Director of Risk Management and Compliance, Santa Clara University and Sue Liden, Director of Risk Services, Pacific Lutheran University. The co-chairs asked several questions of the Presidents and the audience heard stories of risk managers being asked to do more during the pandemic to protect their institutions in new ways. The panelists were Daria J. Willis, President Everett Community College, Allan Belton, President, Pacific Lutheran Univeristy, and Stephen Percy, President, Portland State University.
