I took over as the Treasurer in June with limited non-profit corporation tax experience. I was trying to obtain tax clearance from the state Department of Revenue over the last several months and ended up having to fill out several documents for the last three years. The Form 990 slipped my attention until this afternoon when I met with our President to discuss tax compliance efforts over the recent months.
